What . . . Tallington Lakes is a large complex with a wide choice of land and water activities. There are two floodlit ski slopes: the 120-metre main slope and a beginners slope. The slope surface is kept lubricated with a mist system.
Slope users must be able to control speed, direction, and use the lift if not taking ski lessons. Open practice is available at all times, but it's advisable to phone to check availablity.
A range of private and group lessons are available; a course of four one-hour sesions is advisable for beginners. Children have access to the kids' ski club and toboggan parties.
The Tallington Ski & Snowboard Centre is open from 10 a.m. to 7-9:30 p.m. every day. The main slope is reserved for toboganning 5-7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 4-6 p.m. Sundays.
The Lakeside Bar & Restaurant is a large family friendly eatery with a well-stocked cellar.
The pro shop stocks an extensive range of ski/snowboarding equipment and clothing to suit all sizes.
Other amenities . . . Water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, inflatables, jet skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, rock climbing, crazy karts, tennis courts, swimming pool and hot tub, camping, and kids' playground.
Price . . . An hour's open practice costs £9 adults; £7 children.
