Where . . . Montana Snow Center, Westerhoven, The Netherlands
What . . . The Montana Snow Center is a ski hall with 6000 square metres of real-snow slopes served by two draglifts. The longest run is 140 metres in length. The temperature in the hall is -2 degrees Celsius so warm clothing is advisable and gloves are mandatory. Freeskiing is only available to experienced skiers and snowboarders, everyone else must enrol in lessons, which have to be booked in advance. Group lessons are available for one or two hours.
Opening times: Tuesdays-Thursdays 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and closed Mondays.
Non-skiing Activities . . . None
Food/Shops . . . There's a café-restaurant serving lunch and dinner as well as the Rocky Bar for après-ski drinks. The latest ski gear is also available to buy or rent at the Snow Sports Store.
Prices . . . An hour's ski pass costs €21 adults; €17.50 children. Prices include skis/snowboards and boots. Group lessons for beginners start at €27 for adults; €23.50 for children.
