The festival concludes with the legendary 400-mile John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. The grueling race, which hosts up to 80 teams and 700 dogs, commemorates the old mail run between Duluth and Grand Marais along the north shore of Lake Superior. It's one of the longest sled dog races held in the Lower 48. There's something for all snowsports enthusiasts. Duluth was recently recognized as one of the top 10 outdoor towns in North America by Outdoor Magazine.
