El Colorado is hosting international freeskiing and snowboarding events this August.

The Freeskiing World Tour is to be held in El Colorado for the second year running August 17-21. It is the oldest and most prestigious freeskiing discipline in the world. Skiers are judged on style, skill, speed, and aggressiveness on their lines and control. National and international skiers will compete and show their skills in order to achieve points in the FWT.

The King Park competition returns to El Colorado for its sixth consecutive year August 28-29. More than 80 skiers and snowboarders from Chile and abroad will compete in three different disciplines: Big Air, Rail Session and Slope Style.

The Circuit Villains Bugs is a freestyle event for kids (aged 8 to 17), which takes place July 20 and 21 at the snowpark. Children will compete in Slope Style and a fun race.

El Colorado (2430m/7972ft) is the closest resort to the Chilean capital, Santiago. Its 38 kilometres (24 miles) of local pistes combine with neighbouring Valle Nevado and La Parva to make up the ‘3 Valleys of the Andes' - the largest skiable domain in the Southern Hemisphere - with a total of 107 kilometres (66 miles) of pistes.
