Oct 26, 2007 By Patrick Thorne
Saariselkä will see its accommodation capacity increase significantly, when a new four star hotel and conference centre in the area is completed next year. Construction of the Gielas hotel project, which will be the best in town, in Saariselkä's most central location, commenced recently with completion due in August 2008. The hotel will have a total of 84 rooms, 77 of which will be Superior-class twin rooms of over 30m², six will be junior suites and there will be one Gielas suite. Each room will have its own sauna, balcony, bathtub and internet connection.
"The expectations of customers, both at home and abroad, are constantly rising, and so spacious, high-quality rooms can better meet their needs", said Susanna Saastamoinen, Managing Director of Saariselkä Tunturi Hotel, the group behind the new development.
