Visitors to OnTheSnow.com have chosen Jiminy Peak in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts as their "Favorite Family Friendly Resort" in the Northeast. The data period for voting was January 2010 when a Nielsen audit showed 2.3 million unique browsers logged in to the world's most visited Web portal. OnTheSnow.com is published by Mountain News Corp.

The ski resort with the top average score (on a scale of 1 to 5) in each category, and a minimum number of entries, receives the award. Visitors then ranked them in five categories: Overall Favorite, Best Nightlife, Most Family-Friendly, Best Downhill Terrain, and Best Terrain Park.

"User-generated content is a very powerful and effective way Web visitors have to communicate with each other," said Mountain News Corp. President and Publisher Rob Brown. "Skiers and snowboarders are relying on the word of their peers when they make resort choices."

Here are just a few samples of what OTS visitors wrote about Jiminy: "Jiminy is great for grandpa and the grandkids, too. I've seen so many people get their start here with their great learn to ski programs. I personally love the variety of terrain..." "Safety patrols are everywhere. This is a very family-friendly place."

Jiminy Peak is a self-contained resort, with skiing/boarding, slopeside accommodations, a village center with shops, and dining on site. The advanced skier/boarder can find challenging terrain, while intermediates can enjoy runs just made for cruising. Take the high speed six-passenger Berkshire Express to the summit. Beginners, too, can take to the slopes at their own pace. If skiers or riders can't get their fill of action during the day, there's lighted night skiing to fill the void.
