Crystal Mountain offers two outstanding golf courses and arguably some of the best teaching programs in the state. It's ranked among Golf Magazine's Top 25 Golf Schools nationwide.
The championship Mountain Ridge course carves through heavily forested highlands with expansive waste bunkers, and culminating in a 200-foot climb with spectacular views. Four tee-boxes on each hole make the Ridge a very playable course. Distances range from an easy playing 4,956-yards to a very demanding 7,007-yards.
You play amidst sparkling creeks, tranquil ponds, and lush meadows on Crystal's scenic Betsie Valley course Water comes into play on nine of 18 holes. Its isolated fairways are accented with wildflowers and flanked by towering pines and hardwoods. Yardages range from just over 5,000 to a little over 6,500.
Summer is a great time of the year to visit the region. Take a stroll through the 30-acre Michigan Legacy Art Park. A 1.6-mile trail winds by more than 40 sculptures depicting Michigan's great outdoors.
