Giants Ridge turns its attention this time of year to its two outstanding golf courses in anticipation of the spring and summer seasons. The Ridge is Minnesota's largest ski and golf resort, and located along the state's Iron Range it offers outstanding summer conditions compared to the lower Midwest.
The Legend, designed by golfing great Lanny Wadkins and The Quarry, a visually stunning course sculpted from reclaimed mine lands, offer 36 of the most outstanding holes in the Gopher State and the Heartland. The Legend was recently rated as the 72nd Best Public Golf Course in the nation by Golf Digest, and the Quarry was rated the 20th Best Public Course in the nation. Giants Ridge was rated as the 2nd Best Golf Course Destination in the Midwest by Golf.com this year.
Ron Whitten, Golf Digest's course critic, wrote about the Quarry, "Hands down the finest course in Minnesota. This Quarry will swallow up all Quarries before it, from Florida to California. It's a combination of Pebble Beach, Pine Valley, Merion and Tobacco Road, with a bit of architectural Tabasco sauce sprinkled in for an occasional jolt." Pretty heady praise.
Play the Legend or the Quarry, Monday through Thursday from opening day through June 3 for $52. You must register in the golf shop upon check-in for the complementary Troon Rewards program to qualify for the rate. Mention this offer when you book a reservation.
Make it an overnight stay and play package. Through June 3 when you're playing golf with the early season Troon Rewards you can stay overnight in the Lodge at Giant's Ridge or the Villas condos for $52 per person, per night, based on double occupancy.
