Silver Mountain winds up its ski season in April. Spring Carnival comes to the slopes for closing weekend with the Silver Slush Pond competition April 3 followed by Easter Egg Hunts on the mountain, in the waterpark, and in the Gondola Village April 4.
Springs that bring more snow bode well for additional ski and snowboard days at Silver. The resort often runs Silver Saturdays-scheduled this year April 10, 17, and 24, when the lifts run for an extra day on the slopes.
Silver Mountain bridges the gap between winter and summer activities with its annual Leadman Triathlon April 24. The unique triathlon combines skiing or snowboarding with downhill mountain biking and running.
The event launches with a Le Mans start, with competitors running to their gear to click in and skiing or riding down a 1.5-mile long course. The mountain biking portions combines double and single track, gravel, rocks, dirt, mud, and asphalt over 7 to11 miles while the running leg consists of 3-5 miles of mixed terrain. The event route is determined each year depending on weather and conditions. Participants can enter as individuals or teams.
Summer at Silver brings scenic gondola rides, lift-accessed mountain biking, and hiking. The resort's Morning Star Lodge Condos r runs year round as does the waterpark, which is open Fridays through Sundays through spring and seven days a week mid-June through early September.
