Sugar Bowl runs late into April for spring skiing and riding. The resort offers ways to save a few dollars on the slopes, too.

The resort plans to run its lifts, conditions permitting, through April 25. "We try to keep all lifts running for access to the backcountry for spring corn," spokesperson John Monson told OnTheSnow.com. "Near April 25, we'll assess the conditions, and if they are good, we may continue into May."

Sugar Bowl runs lift ticket specials throughout the spring. Look for these online. General Admission tickets, which include free lessons and rentals with the lift access, extend availability to seven days per week for spring. Those purchasing 2010-11 season passes can ski or ride free for the remainder of this season starting April 12.

Once the resort closes for the season, it shifts into summer mode. Summer brings the popular kids adventure camps to Sugar Bowl where children explore rock climbing, hiking, lake kayaking, and hands-on educational activities. The Pacific Crest Trail slices through Sugar Bowl, making the resort a place for kids and adults to leap onto the border-to-border trail.

The dining room and the bar in the lodge are open daily from the end of June through Labor Day Weekend. The Four Peaks Restaurant features fine dining on French-inspired California cuisine while the Belt Room Bar serves up cold drinks on the deck.
