Avalanche Days are going on for the next couple of weeks at Granite Peak, Wisconsin's largest ski area.  The first weekend, March 27-28, is Retro Weekend at the Peak.

Dig into the closet for those old ski outfits, up in the attic for a pair of old skis, and head to Granite Peak for a weekend of fun as they roll back the years.  There will be a Retro ski contest, Retro music, and the Brian West Show will be performing in the Historic Chalet from 1 to 3 p.m. that Saturday, March 27.  It's a combination of game show and magic.  Test your Retro knowledge with your friends. 

The Peak will be rolling back prices to the 1980s that weekend.  Lift tickets will be $10 from 4 to 9 p.m., and rentals also will be $10.  

Come a couple of days early and enjoy an evening with Gladys Knight at Wausau's Grand Theater Thursday, March 25.  You won't need a "Midnight Train to Georgia" or anywhere else to relive the hits of the empress of soul. Gladys Knight brings incomparable emotional phrasing, vocal power and a trainload of memories.  It's the perfect way to start a Retro Weekend.

The end of the season is coming fast.  Sunday, April 4, is the last day of skiing and riding at the Peak for this season.  Get out and enjoy some late season snowsports.  It's often some of the best conditions of the winter.
