Inghams have slashed the price of a week's half-board Easter holiday in Zermatt.
The discounted package holiday has been reduced by £265 to £790 per person and includes flights and a week's accommodation at the four-star Ambassador Hotel in Zermatt.
The reduced-price holiday includes Easter Sunday, with departures Saturday, April 3. The price is based on two people sharing and includes transfers and flights from London Gatwick to Geneva. Flights are also available from Birmingham (+£22), Bristol (+£27), and Manchester(+£29).
Dominated by the spectacular peak of the Matterhorn, Zermatt is one of only two resorts in the world that endeavours to stay open for snow sports 365 days a year. It also operates the highest ski lifts in Europe serving one of the continent's biggest verticals, again one of the two biggest in the world.
Although the resort has a deserved reputation, like Chamonix, as a serious mountain sports mecca, the choice is so vast that there is plenty on offer for skiers and snowboarders from beginner level up. The gentlest slopes are found on the Gornegrat 's slopes, whilst intermediates and experts will find something to entertain them on Sunnegga, especially the long Triftji black run for the latter. Key routes back down to Zermatt have snow-making facilities and the high altitude means snow down to resort level is the norm.
The traffic-free village also has plenty to keep the non-skiers entertained with activities including winter walking, snowshoeing, ice skating, and a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes.
