It's a crazy wild grand finale of fun for the 10th Annual Bud Light Spring Jam at Aspen and Snowmass. The Greyboy Allstars rock the base of Aspen Mountain on Friday night, March 26. They're a funk/jam band based out of Southern California.
The Bud Light Big Air Friday series continues through April 2, at Snowmass. The best boarders and skiers descend upon Fanny Hill each Friday from 2-3 p.m. to perfect the best tricks for a change at prize money and series points.
The crazy fun is Saturday afternoon, March 27, with the third annual Schneetag at Snowmass. Teams of four create a craft that slides down the slope just below the Snowmass superpipe above Spider Sabich. They do their best to soar over a 75' by 20' pond. Each team performs a skit before their run. They're judged on costume theme, creativity, and flight distance of their craft, which must be entirely human-powered. It must be less than ten feet wide and weigh less than 400 pounds, including the pilot. Each team picks one member to fly their craft across the pond.
Prizes include comp tickets to the ESPN X Games in Los Angeles this summer, tickets to a major sporting event in Denver, and new skis or snowboards.
The Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls is 10 to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28, at Aspen Highlands. It's hosted by uber athlete Chris Davenport. Teams of two use Flaik GSP devices to tackle the course.
