The Chef's Star Cup and the first Gastronomy Ski World Cup will be held in Ischgl April 19.
Sixty celebrity chefs from Austria and Germany will be trading in their aprons for skis and competing against each other on the giant slalom for the 13th Chef's Star Cup.
Over the last few years, top chefs such as Eckart Witzigmann, Dieter Mueller, Heinz Winkler, Rudi and Karl Obauer, Johann Lafer, and Hans Haas were at the starting line in Ischgl.
Ischgl is situated in Paznaun, which is one of Austria's gourmet regions. Its flagship product is the typical mountain cheese "Paznauner Almkase." You'll find local produce, like cheese, ham, sausage, and honey served in the mountain huts and town's restaurants.
Ischgl has many restaurants feature toque-awarded and star-awarded cuisine as well as traditional home-style cooking. Besides Austrian cuisine, Ischgl features plenty of Italian eateries.
The resort offers access to 215 kilometres of slopes in the Silvretta Arena. Ski slopes are linked by ultramodern lifts (gondolas, aerial ropeways, chairlifts, and drags). Skiing here is suitable for all levels, from wide nursery slopes to challenging slopes for speed and carving. The longest slope is 11 kilometres stretching from Greitspitz down to Ischgl village.
