The Swiss resort of Engelberg has released a special Spring Season Pass which is valid for the rest of the winter season through to the end of May, and costs little more than a six-day ticket.
The season pass, valid right through March and Easter to May 24, costs CHF350 for adults; CHF140 for ages 6 to 15; CHF280 for seniors aged over 64; and is free for children under 5 years.
The Swiss resort of Engelberg offers direct access to 82 kilometres (51 miles) of ski runs. The ski area is served by more than 20 lifts. The ski season runs until the end of May thanks in part to its Titlis glacier ski area complete with the Ice flyer high-speed, six-seater chairlift.
As well as winter sports, in spring Engelberg is a hiker's paradise with 360 kilometres (225 miles) of marked trails ranging from short strolls to demanding mountain tours. Popular routes include circling the Trubsee Lake, accessed by cable car. Guided walks can also be organised.
Engelberg Mountaineering School offers training in rock and ice climbing and high-level tour weeks. There are six open-air tennis courts as well as the two year-round indoor courts. Mountain biking and paragliding adventures are also available for exploring the surroundings.
