The annual Intersport Spring Festival returns to St. Anton am Arlberg April 9-11, bringing ski races and shows to the region.
The popular festival sees professional skiers and snowboarders battling it out on the mountain as part of the Austrian Ski Instructor and Figure 8 Ski Championships; the Big Air contest; a freeride competition; a giant slalom; and the demo championships.
Further highlights of the festival features a ‘beach' on Rendl Mountain and a giant living room created in the snow.
St. Anton celebrates the end of the season with the legendary White Rush ski race April 24. Skiers, snowboarders, and telemarkers hurl themselves down Valuga (2650m) to chase each other down the challenging nine-kilometre-long slope.
The Arlberg region of Austria has an excellent snow record with a century long reputation for offering skiing from late November right through to early May. The area always starts and ends the ski season with discounted rates on lift tickets with Snow crystal weeks.
Arlberg offers a total of 85 state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts and 440 kilometres of terrain for all levels, including steep challenging slopes, snowboard fun parks, carving areas, racing circuits, and numerous mountain huts.
