On top of Lone Peak, 10 feet of flakes piled up. With one storm after another, locals don't have enough hands to count the powder days. According to Savage, the February snowfall was 162 percent compared to the average February snowfalls of the past 34 years. It tallied up as the third deepest February on record. The majority of the snow piled on the upper mountain with strong wind loads on southern exposures. Big Sky is forecasting a record March in visitation. "It's exciting for all the people who are getting to experience Big Sky for the first time to have so much snow to explore," said Meg O'Leary, director of sales and marketing. "The truth is deep powder brings people to the resort and keeps them coming back."
