Calling all videographers and wannabe ski or snowboard movie stars. Skiers and riders at Mountain High can compete in a video contest to win a 2010-11 season pass.

Mountain High launched its third annual Video Wars in February. The competition pits budding videographers against each other for the best of the best footage of Mountain High.

Anyone can enter the contest, which has no entry fee. Video submissions must be shot between Feb. 14 and March 6 at Mountain High. Videos can cover skiing or snowboarding and use headcams. "People submit everything you can think of," marketing manager Kim Hermon told OnTheSnow.com. "But the videos can't pull out prior footage or they'll be disqualified."

Entries, which should be limited to four minutes including opening and closing credits, are due in the Guest Services shack in the West Resort by 4:30 p.m. March 6. Submissions should be on a CD, DVD, or flash drive.

The judging considers editing, composition, and shot selection. Winners are voted in three categories: best overall video, best overall rider performance, and people's choice. Prizes include a 2010-11 season pass and packages of shirts, Monster Energy drinks, and swag.

Video Wars premiers 6-9 p.m. March 13 in the Bullwheel Bar and Grill. The bar packs out for the viewing, raffles, and awards followed by an afterparty.

"We're looking for people to be creative and positive," added Hermon. "Go out there and shoot!"
