Brundage Mountain SnoCat Adventures began operation this season in late January with new rates on some of their trips. The prices on full-day and private trips dropped from last year's rates.

Brundage offers full-day and overnight cat trips north of the resort on more than 19,000 acres of backcountry up Goose Creek Canyon in Payette National Forest. The guides are licensed by the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association. The number of runs per day varies with the speed and skill of the group, but some groups can amass 24,000 vertical in a day.

Full-day cat trips include an orientation and equipment check, alpine buffet lunch, snacks, avalanche beacons, and powder ski rentals in addition to guided skiing or snowboarding. This year's price is $239 per person--$60 less than last year's price.

Overnight cat trips include two full days of backcountry skiing or riding with an overnight stay in a yurt. Meals, snacks, avalanche beacons, and powder skis are part of the package. The wood-stove heated yurt provides padded bunks with sleeping bags. Complimentary lift skiing at Brundage is tacked on for the day following the trip. Overnight trips cost $689 per person.

Private cat trips let you create your own group. Round up 11 people to participate, and the guide will tailor the terrain choices to the group. Private cat trips this year cost $1,600-a drop from last year's price of $1,999.
