Yes, so, spring conditions are sunshine and warmer temps this weekend atop plenty of powder. That's perfect for a couple of events at Belleayre on Saturday: the Turn N' Burn Mogul Challenge is a heart-thumping run down the black diamond bumps on the Yahoo trail. Also not for the faint-of-heart is Saturday's Pine Hill Arms Triathlon, a ski-bike-run event for buff athletes daring to show off their mad skillz. Over at Bristol Mountain Winter Resort, they're just plain ol' partying on the slopes with the Winter Carnival slated for Saturday and Sunday. You know the drill: games, parties, music and general mayhem for all. Windham Mountain slates ye olde pond skimming for Saturday. And did somebody say Whiteface? Sure, they've got a pipe and slopestyle competition raising the roof on Saturday, and if you're hearing a lot of jam music around town this weekend, that's because the annual Snoe.down is in Lake Placid, with top jam bands, including New York's own Moe., gettin' their groove on. Find me there. Over at Gore on Sunday, rattle down the mountain during the infamous Walt's Bump Contest. It's on the Hawkeye trail, with several age categories. Register between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. only for the upper-mountain challenge.
