Mt. Rose introduces a new spring pass for beginners and launches its annual spring sale for 2010-11 season passes.

The resort introduced its new beginner spring pass this month. The pass, which is valid starting March 1, grants unlimited skiing or riding on two chairlifts for the rest of the season. The pass, which provides access to Ponderosa and Galena chairs, costs $164. The pass includes weekend group lessons and daily rental equipment. Those who purchase a First Time Package for skiing or riding can buy the Beginner Spring Pass for $99.

Beginner spring passholders can gain all mountain lift access starting April 1. The pass is valid through the end of the season; closing day is projected April 18. Beginner spring passholders also can apply $99 towards a full 2010-11 season pass.

Mt. Rose season passes for the 2010-11 season are on sale now. Those purchasing their passes can ski or ride free from March 1 through the end of the season this year as well as all next season. Spring sale rates for the 2010-11 pass run $433 for adults, $333 for teens and seniors, $233 for super seniors, and $139 for children. The passes are unrestricted with no blackout dates.

The 2010-11 season passes may be purchased online or in person at the resort's guest service office. Beginner spring passes for this season must be purchased in person.
