Arizona Snowbowl has launched several spring specials that offer skiers and riders a way to save a few dollars on lessons and rentals.

The Women's Wednesdays program provides female-specific clinics for skiers and riders to hone their skills. The two-hour clinic, which begins at 10 a.m., costs $50, and includes lift tickets and lunch.

Snowbowl runs a special free clinic for Boomers Thursdays. The clinic targets skiers and riders more than 50 years old. Meet in front of the ski and ride school at 1 p.m. to break up into ability groups for skiing or riding with an Arizona Snowbowl Guide. Lift tickets are available for those 50 years and older for $26 Boomer Thursdays.

Freestyle Fridays feature clinics in the Sunset Terrain Park for the jib crowd. Instructors from the resort's ski and snowboard school hang out at a feature of interest to give tips and safety suggestions to skiers and riders. The 1.5-hour clinics, which are free, start at 3 p.m. every Friday.

Those renting gear at the resort can avail themselves of deals, too. Plan ahead for skiing or riding two days in a row, pre-paying for lift tickets for both days, and rentals on the second days are free. The second-day free rental offer is valid Sundays through Thursdays with holiday blackouts.

You also can get half price rentals on a second day by paying for the rental gear by 2:30 p.m. on your first day. The half-price second day rentals is available any consecutive day, including holidays.
