Jack Frost Resort is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the northeastern Pennsylvania Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. The Ski for the Cure event takes place 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27. There is a $5 entry fee to participate and registration begins at 8 a.m. in the base lodge.
Jack Frost will donate $3 for every lift ticket sold that day to the fund. There are several options to raise money in the effort to treat or cure breast cancer. Event participants can secure pledges for every run taken during the two hour period or make a flat donation. Pledge sheets are downloadable from the Jack Frost Web site (see more information below). Ribbon, raffle ticket, and pink tee shirt purchases also will benefit the cause.
A dedication run is planned at 11 a.m. for survivors or friends and relatives who have lost a loved one to breast cancer. Others who just want to support the cause are welcome.
Pepsico will offer product samplings on event day. They also will sponsor an interactive game the proceeds of which will go to Komen. Subaru will offer prizes to participants.
Families who can extend their stay through Sunday night can also take advantage of Family Night. A Snowpass lift ticket for skiing and snowboarding or a pass for the tubing park costs $20 from 4 to 10 p.m. The area surrounding Jack Frost boasts 28 lodging possibilities.
