One of Mount Washington's most popular evening events isn't found in a bar. It's a snowshoe tour followed by a fondue dinner.
The Snowshoe Tour and Fondue Dinner, offered Friday and Saturday nights through March 22, combines outdoor exploration and specialty tastes. A guided tour starts the evening on snowshoe trails through old growth forest in Stathcona Provincial Park-British Columbia's oldest provincial park.
The dinner follows at Mt. Washington's Raven Lodge with three courses of fondue. The dinner launches with a traditional Swiss cheese fondue. The second course brings out the meat and seafood fondue, while the dessert course tops off the meal with fresh fruit dipped in chocolate fondue.
Tickets for the tour and dinner cost $49 CAD per person. Children 12 years old and younger can go for $26 CAD. The dinner tours require advance reservations due to their popularity. Reservations can be made online or by phone.
Mount Washington's 20 kilometers of snowshoe trails and Atlas rental snowshoes allow for anyone to go out snowshoeing at any time-even at night. Rentals and a trail pass for adults costs $22 CAD during the day. Nights are half price. Beginner can take a two-hour guided tour to learn snowshoe techniques for $31 CAD. Custom tours are also available.
