Kirkwood launched the return of their midwinter pass sale this past week and added an upgrade option for season passholders at other Tahoe resorts.

The mid-winter passes, which went on sale Feb. 12, are valid for unrestricted lift access from Feb. 15 through the last day of the 2009-10 season. This year the final day of the season is slated for April 25.

The midwinter pass, which can be purchased online, costs $249 for adults ages 19-64. Junior passes for ages 13-18 and college student passes cost $189. Child passes for ages 6-12 cost $129. Other passes at discounted rates are available for seniors.

Midwinter passes include a list of perks. One free buddy ticket is available, and passholders can purchase up to four all day tickets during the season at 50 percent off. Other benefits feature early load days on lifts, ticket discounts at other resorts, and free group lessons.

A second season pass program has been added that gives season passholders from other Tahoe resorts a way to add on days at Kirkwood. The resort's new Tahoe Kirkwood Upgrade allows passholders from any other resort in the Tahoe area to purchase three days of skiing or riding at Kirkwood for $99. The Tahoe Kirkwood Upgrade is available by presenting a valid 2009-10 season pass at one of Kirkwood's ticket windows.
