The high-altitude resort of Obertauern (1630m) has released ‘Sun Skiing' package deals, which offer discounted lift tickets and accommodation during the spring skiing months of March and April.
The March offers are for valid the pre-Easter holiday week, from March 20 to 27, and the April period begins after the Easter holidays from April 10, for three weeks, through to May 2.
Obertauern is one of Austria's highest ski areas and is known as "Austria's Snowbowl." The resort boasts a six-month ski season (end of November to beginning of May), so it is a good bet for reliable snow conditions in the spring sunshine.
Package deals are available in three- or four-star hotels, as well as self-catering holiday apartments, and can be booked on a bed and breakfast or half-board basis. Stays of seven days include a six-day lift pass.
Prices in March start from €445 for a week in a three-star hotel with breakfast or from €590 on a half-board basis. Stays in a four-star hotel with half-board cost from €695. All prices are per person and subject to availability.
Alternatively, choose to stay in an apartment on a discounted rate, which for two people starts from €490 or $990 for a four-person apartment.
The ski area reaches a maximum altitude of 2313 metres.
