Red Lodge opened their Cole Creek lift after receiving 59 inches of snow in one week. The Cole Creek quad accesses the resort's double-black diamonds, like Black Powder, True Grit, and Cole Chute along with other blue and black runs. Big Bear Gulch and Headwaters Chutes are still closed. "The Cole Creek area is one of our most anticipated openings of the season," said Red Lodge's Robert Drake. "Cole Creek offers excellent chutes and tree skiing for expert riders as well as mid-level runs."
Packed powder greeted skiers and riders on the first day Cole Creek opened. "In addition to phenomenal skiing, the views on that side of the resort are absolutely amazing, so everyone is always excited to get back there," said Drake.
