Hidden Valley, located less than an hour from the west side of St. Louis, offers a nice snow sports choice for Gateway City residents who don't have a lot of options. Other ski areas would be a few hours away.
Hidden Valley has a decent, 310-foot vertical drop, 13 trails, and two terrain parks serviced by a quad chairlift, two triples, and three surface tows, including a carpet lift for the beginner area. Area residents love the Valley, which has been serving them since the early 1980s.
Holiday Inn at Six Flags, 10 minutes from the ski area, is offering a couple of lift-and-lodging packages that are good through March 22. Packages start from $219 per couple for one night's lodging and include lift tickets and ski rental for two people for a day on the slopes. Two-night, two-day packages start from a little over $300.
The Valley will remain open Presidents' Day Weekend until 3 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, when Midnight Madness rates apply. The weekend of Feb. 20-21 is Mardi Gras Party Weekend. Break out the beads and get ready to celebrate Missouri style. The Valley will supply the jambalaya, Cajun food, and snow. Lots of activities and slope-style competitions will be taking place.
