New Lift And Snowmaking At Crans Montana

The Swiss resort started building the new lift in May. The lift will follow a longer route, with multiple loading and unloading points. Crans Montana has also decided to invest considerably in snowmaking as quickly as possible in order to ensure optimal snow cover in the ski area from the very beginning of the season. The network of pistes with snowmaking is being increased to the top of the Chetseron piste, which will, from now on, be completely covered with artificial snow. The upgraded system can produce adequate snow cover over a period of around 70 hours of cold weather. "So Christmas holidays with no snow on the pistes should, in theory, be no more than a bad memory," said an optimistic resort spokesman.
