Stomp And Ride Snowshoe, Snowboard Events For Breast Cancer Jan. 30, Feb. 7

Two events are upcoming to raise money to fight breast cancer: Jan. 30 at Stratton, and Feb. 7 at Waterville Valley.

Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer will be held Jan. 30 at Stratton's Sun Bowl.

The event includes a race and two walks, all sponsored by Tubbs, the premier Vermont snowshoe company.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. All race participants must be checked in by 8:40; all walk participants must be checked in by 9:10.

The 3K snowshoe race begins at 9 a.m. at the entrance to Stratton's Nordic trails at the Sun Bowl. The 3K and 5K snowshoe walk begins at 9:30 a.m. at the same place.

The event will end at noon.

Race day registration is $40 for adults, $25 for kids 6-12, and free for 5 and under taking part with a registered adult.

Participants are encouraged to line up sponsors to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Waterville Valley goes pink Feb. 7 with Boarding for Breast Cancer.

Registration for B4BC is $40 ($25 for Threedom Pass holder) and includes a Pink Rail Jam at noon, terrain park lift ticket, goodies bag of sponsor swag, and a raffle ticket for the Pink Raffle. Registration for the Pink Jam is 8 to 10 a.m.

Pink Raffle tickets will be sold for $2 apiece (six for $10) Feb. 6 and 7, for a drawing for women's set-ups donated by Burton, Flow, Salomon, Atomic, Roxy, Forum, Rome, and Nitro Rossignol , and goodies from Thule, Oakley, Smith Optics, Spyder, Merrell, Eastern Boarder, NH Old School and Volcom.
