Leukerbad will be alive with colourful parades and street music in celebration of the Fudinis Carnival Feb. 11-16.
Highlights of the carnival include the Guggenmusik concert in the thermal baths, the Fudi race, Fat Thursday, and the children's parade.
The February festivities in Leukerbad are followed by another unique event in March: the typical cow fights of Valais in snow. Enjoy free entry to the Queens Fight from 1:30 p.m to 3 p.m, March 6. The cow fighting takes place in the snow arena of Flaschen, set next to the cable car.
In the village, skiers and snowboarders have the choice of two ski lifts or they can take the cable car to the Torrent ski area. More than 50 kilometres of pistes, some of which have seen world-cup races, as well as the snowboard fun park provide a wealth of opportunities. Six ski lifts and a six-passenger gondola link the Torrent and Albinen ski area. Cross-country skiers have 12 kilometres of trails to explore near the village.
Leukerbad isn't just famous for its winter sports,; it also boasts famous spa facilities: 3.9 million litres of thermal water per day flow into the 30 private and public spas of Leukerbad.
