Les Portes du Soleil, the Franco-Swiss ski area that brings 12 resorts together, is offering an assortment of hot deals for the month of March. These offers range from lift or hotel discounts to package stays and non-skiing activities.

To start, Val d'Illiez's hotel Alpadze lou kra in Champoussin offers stays at anywhere from 10 to 80 per cent cheaper than the regular price from March 6 to April 3. A stay in the hotel also gives visitors access to the sauna, Turkish steam bath, and fitness centre.

Champéry suggests a week of skiing with their Ski Week Package. This includes seven nights in a three-star, half-board hotel, a six-day lift pass, welcome cocktail, rand aclette evening. This package costs CHF874 and is valid from March 20 to April 3.

Morgins offers the Snowball Deal, which gives guests four nights of half-board in a two-star hotel, a one-day Portes du Soleil ski pass, a horse-drawn carriage ride, a day of snowshoe hire, and a fondue evening for CHF562 per person. The snowball deal is valid from March 6 to April 3.

For skiing couples, Les Gets proposes the provocatively-named Pleasure Trip for Lovers. For €470, the three nights are spent in a two-star, two-room flat for €604 or half-board accommodation is in a two-star hotel. Both include two three-day Portes de Soleil passes and are valid from March 3 to April 17, 2010. Reservations are only taken 10-15 days before the stay.

At Châtel, ski alternatives are on the menu with the Activities Cocktail Package. It includes seven nights in an apartment, a snack on the farm, entrance to the baths, a snowshoe outing, and a 30-minute massage session. Starting at €160 per person, this price is based on four people sharing a studio. The stay is valid from March 6 to April 3.
