There is no reason in the world to purchase a full price lift ticket at Wisp Resort. Maryland's only ski area has so many deals with so many partners that discounted tickets are available every day of the week.

Monday is BOGO day. That stands for Buy One Get One. Purchase one lift ticket for $39 and get another free. Extended lift tickets are valid from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. President's Day, Feb. 15., is excluded.

Most days the going rate is $21 for an extended lift ticket. Tack on equipment rentals and the price is $36. A night ticket costs $15 for the 5 to 9 p.m. session. A night lift and rental package is available in some cases.

Tuesday is another discount day. Full or part time high school and college students with a valid photo ID get the price break. A minimum purchase at participating Roy Rogers food outlets in Frederick, Hagerstown, Westminster, and Gaithersburg, Md. buys a voucher for the same lift ticket-only and lifts and rental packages. Smiley's pizzeria, in McHenry, has a similar deal.

Locals pay $21 on Wednesdays. What's the catch? It doesn't matter where you live. Everyone is a local somewhere.

Thursday is Season Pass Swap Day. Anyone with a 2009-10 season pass for any resort other than Wisp pays $21 for the 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. session or $15 for the 5 to 9 p.m. session.  Local McDonald's restaurants offer vouchers for Thursdays.

Don't worry if you only can go on a weekend. Wisp even has a deal with participating Costco stores for a 22 percent discount on weekend adult lift tickets.
