Chairs 8 and 9 are now open at Loveland. Snow conditions allowed most of the intermediate terrain to become available with the opening of the lifts. Sunburst Chutes off Chair 4 was also able to open, as were the South Chutes off Chair 2. Some of the steeps under Chair 1 are now available. The opening of Chair 4 brought along with it 100 acres of new terrain. Seven lifts are now running at Loveland, serving over 700 acres of terrain.
Loveland is the place to demo some gear and test the equipment before making the big decision. The Loveland Sports Shop at the base area offers demo skis and snowboards. You can try the gear once, or you can test out the gear before you buy it with the Hat Trick Demo Package. Demo any three pairs of skis or two boards for only $50. There is even more of a discount when you show your Loveland Season Pass.
Loveland's biggest annual event is the Mountain Matrimony ceremony. This is the 19th year for the snowy service, which is held on Valentine's Day each year. Couples from across the United States gather at an altitude of 12,000 feet to tie the knot or renew their vows. You must pre-register for the event at Loveland's website. Registration gets you a buy-one, get-one free lift ticket and entrance to the reception for couples.
