Dodge Ridge Wintersports Area and Tuolumne County Transit have teamed up for the second year on a bus service. The service, introduced last winter, proved successful enough to offer again this winter.

The bus service from Sonora runs weekends and holidays to transport local skiers and snowboarders to the resort. The service offers an environmentally friendly option to get to the mountain and a way to leave the driving on Highway 108 to someone else.

The bus has 12 pick-up and drop-off points in Sonora, starting at 7 a.m. Locations include places such as the Courthouse Park, Junction Shopping Center, Twain Harte Market, and Sierra Village Market. The bus arrives at Dodge Ridge at 8:45 a.m., dropping skiers and riders off at the Dodge Ridge ticket window. The bus departs the ski resort at 4:30 p.m. and finishes its drop-off route in Sonora by 6 p.m.

The service costs $10 per person round trip. Reservations, which are required for the bus, can be made by calling Tuolumne County Transit at least 24 hours in advance. The bus runs through March 28.

Riders on the bus got a special deal last weekend (Jan. 23-24), and those riding this weekend (Jan. 30-31) can get the discount offer, too. Ski Bus riders are eligible to purchase a lift ticket at $10 off. This offer is valid only for lift tickets purchased that day at Dodge Ridge.
