There may be no better time to try out the learning programs at The Homestead. The resort is offering a ski free package that runs from January to mid-March for $199 per night. It includes a room and two lift tickets. Additional adults and children over six years old pay an additional $10 per night. The Winter Unlimited package starts at $269 and include a wide range of additional recreational activities besides skiing and snowboarding.
Skiing and snowboarding at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia is not just an activity, it's an experience in southern hospitality. Presidents and royalty have sampled its grand charm and frequented its noted natural hot springs. The Homestead also is recognized by many as the birthplace of southern snow sports mostly due to Sepp Kober, the man who served as the first certified instructor and the first ski area director. He is the founder of the ski school that bears his name. Kober recently was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.
The Homestead caters to those who want to learn partially because of Kober's legacy. The southeast today is considered the largest and most active feeder market for the U.S. snow sports industry by the National Ski Areas Association. Its 20 resorts account for nearly five million skier visits and there are more clubs in the region than anywhere in the country.
