Five years ago, the games pumped an estimated $4.8 billion into the state's economy. Last year, an estimated 19.3 million visitors came to Utah, up over two million from the Olympic year. It's an increase of 12 percent according to those watching the gate. Revenues have also increased. The Utah Office of Tourism also says the ski industry is experiencing a lasting economic effect from the Winter Games.
