The Women's Winter Tour is coming to Crystal Mountain the weekend of Feb. 5-7.  It's billed as the Super Bowl of women's winter getaways, and for good reason.  It's always been held on Super Bowl weekend as an alternative outing.

The Tour, now in its 12th year, is a celebration of women, winter and chocolate.  Attendance in past years has been well over a thousand like-minded women that want to experience being spoiled, enjoy one of northern Michigan's top winter resorts, and frolic in the snow.

A two-hour snowshoe tour of Crystal's Legacy Art Park will take place Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, and a LunaFest Film Festival is from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Crystal Center.  Registration for the snowshoe tour prior to the event is $10 and $15 day of the event.  The film festival is $15 prior to the event and $20 at the door.

Lifts open an hour early Sunday, at 8 a.m., just for women signed up for the Tour to enjoy fresh snow all by themselves. You must show proof of tour entry.  The Winter Tour, with food, wine and chocolate stops along the trail, runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  There are cross-country tours of 3, 5 and 10 kilometers. Registration for the event is $35 through Feb. 4 and $45 after that.  The Women's Winter Tour benefits the local Traverse City women's shelter.

Crystal has a Simply Ski Package that starts from $89 per person, per night that includes lodging, a downhill lift ticket and a cross-country trail pass.  Lodging guests receive $25 off spa services of $100 or more at the Crystal Spa. Check out the Chocolate Cherry Torte Body Treatment.
