The team-based event requires a pair of competitors to complete all checkpoints. Sound easy? The competition requires not just skiing or snowboarding, but hiking uphill with the route tracked by Flaik GPS down runs, up lifts, and through the woods. The three teams with the best times win. The fastest team wins a trip-including airfare and accommodations--to Aspen and Snowmass for the final Battle in the Bowls.
The race launches with a mass start at 10 a.m. Each team will wear a Flaik GPS unit that records speed, vertical, and distance. The team's data will upload to allow spectators to follow the race in real time.
The event is open to all ages--skiers or snowboarders. A team consists of two, who cover all the checkpoints mountain-wide together. Each participant receives a Helly Hansen Lifa base layer worth $45.
