Skiers and snowboarders from the Puget Sound area can get to Crystal Mountain in a more relaxed manner. Leave driving the narrow, gnarly Highway 410 to a pro to navigate the parade of vehicles through the canyon while you sit back to grab a few more minutes of shut-eye.
Crystal's Weekend Express Bus Service runs Saturdays and Sundays with added service on select holidays such as Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 18, and Presidents Day, Feb. 15. The deluxe coaches are equipped with videos, too.
Rates are available with or without lift tickets and in multi-day packages. Those purchasing lift ticket packages receive the lift ticket for the day on the bus rather than a voucher that must be redeemed at a ticket window.
Round-trip transportation-only tickets cost $35 for adults and $25 for youths and seniors. Transportation and lift ticket packages cost $80 for adults, $70 for youths, and $50 for seniors, which discounts the lift ticket substantially.
The cost for a child 10 years old or younger is $25 with or without a lift ticket included. Kids younger than 12 years are required to be accompanied by an adult.
The discounts get better for multi-day transportation packages. Six-ride packages are available for adults at $144 for the bus only and $414 with lift tickets included. The six-ride packages are also available with or without lift tickets at special rates for children, youths, and seniors.
Buses depart from several greater Puget Sound cities and towns, making multiple stops to pick up riders at different locations. Pickups are scheduled in Seattle, Auburn, Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Puyallup, Enumclaw, Olympia, Issaquah, Bellevue, Renton, and Maple Valley. Puget Sound departure times vary, with arrivals scheduled for 9 a.m. at Crystal. Buses depart at 4 p.m.
Reservations, which are required, can be made online or by phone.
