Timberline Lodge and Gray Line of Portland have teamed up to offer a new midweek bus service for skiers and snowboarders. The service provides a way for Mt. Hood visitors to reach the resort without the frenzy of driving themselves. Those without season passes can purchase packages that combine transportation with a discounted lift ticket.
The new service launched Jan. 4 and continues until March 12. The bus from Portland locations to Timberline runs daily, Mondays through Fridays.
The Timberline Express bus has five pickup locations in the Portland area: the Crowne Plaza in Lake Oswego, the downtown Portland Marriott, Hotel Modera, the Double Tree at Lloyd Center, and the Monarch Hotel. The bus departs from the first pickup location in Lake Oswego at 6:30 a.m. and arrives at the ski resort by 9:30 a.m. The bus departs from Timberline each day at 4 p.m. to return to Portland.
Round-trip transportation costs $50 for all ages. Discounted lift tickets can also be included. The adult transportation and lift ticket package costs $80, which makes the lift ticket cost $30. Youth ages 7-17 can purchase round-trip transportation with a lift ticket for $76. Skiers, snowboarders, and mountain visitors can add in a Fireside Brunch Buffet for the discounted rate of $13.
Reservations are required. Book seats online or by phone.
