Ski For SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) will be held March 2 at Keystone. It's the third year for the event, hosted by First Candle, which is the nation's leading organization dedicated to infant health and survival. Keystone Resort and 75-year-old Norwegian ski champion and Dillon resident Freda Nieters, who had a grandson die of SIDS, also are helping with the event. Everyone is welcome. You will get a discounted lift ticket for a contribution of $100 for adults and $50 for kids ages 13-17. You'll also get to go to the awards ceremony and BBQ right after the event. Contributions are tax deductible. Participants can collect sponsorships from family and friends, and raise money as they take their laps on the hill. Proceeds from the event will support the programs at First Candle, and donate cribs to needy families in Summit County. Visit firstcandle.org to join the activities.
