The Scoop
Tired of stuffy wine tastings run by Syrah-sipping snobs? Pack your toothbrush, golf clubs and a healthy appetite and head to the Green Mountains to uncork during the Killington Wine Festival, July 20-22.
Arrive Friday afternoon and check in before heading to the Killington Grand Resort Hotel patio for an Estate Wine Tasting featuring nearly 60 reserve wines. Chat poolside with vinters and wine experts while sipping on a well-aged Bordeaux. After your final swill, retire for a good night’s sleep and stock up your own reserves... of energy.

Enjoy a relaxing Saturday morning with scenic Vermont backdrops and a bubbly brunch. With wine guide in-hand, head under the big top at noon, an hour before the crowds, for the Grand Tasting VIP Early Admission session (included in the Patron Ticket). Pair unlimited tastings of over 450 wines with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a smorgasbord of Vermont specialty cheeses, chocolates and more. Then, grab your fellow guzzlers for a breathtaking round-trip ride on the K-1 Gondola to the summit of Killington Peak (4,241 feet). At dusk, head to one of the many restaurants located on the access road for a gourmet dinner and nightcap.

Stick around Sunday afternoon for “Wine and Nine” at the Green Mountain National Golf Course, ranked as the No. 1 Public Golf Course in Vermont by Golf Digest. Enjoy a selection of on-course refreshments by the glass while you play through nine holes, followed by a light dinner and awards ceremony. Additional fees apply. Golf Reservations can be made by calling 802-422-4653.
