It’s been another monster powder year at Wolf Creek Ski Area this season, with more than 350 inches of snowfall and a base that reached 100 inches early in the season and never melted.
As the April 8 closing date approaches, the southern Colorado ski and snowboard mountain lays out a few last-minute deals and activities to finish up the season.
On March 28 and April 1, 4 and 8, you don’t have to be a local to get the benefit of Local Appreciation Days. No ID is required to get $33 adult lift tickets, and $19 tickets for children and seniors. Regular prices are $54 and $29, respectively.
College students can get some final powder turns of the season on March 25, 31, and April 7 and save with $33 lift tickets. This discount does require a valid college ID.
The final three Fun Races of the season go off on March 25 and April 1 and 7. All that’s needed is a lift ticket and registration between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. at the Raven’s Nest at the top of the Raven’s Lift. Anyone from age 3 to 70 or over can compete in some 48 categories.
Racing begins at 11:15 a.m. on a dual giant slalom course. Participants take a run on each course and use their fastest time to count toward gold, silver and bronze medals. Awards are presented on the deck of the main lodge at 3:30 p.m.
Special clinics also wind up for the season at Wolf Creek. Both mens, womens and seniors ski and snowboard clinics wrap up on April 7. The final telemark clinic of the season kicks off April 1.
