Come the end of the season, the trail conditions turn slushy, the layers come off and eventually the tradition of the pond skim seals winter's fate and marks the arrival of spring. At Seven Springs, that time is coming March 23-24, during the annual Spring Break Beach Weekend and Pond Skim. So lather on the sunscreen, bust out the shades and Hawaiian shirts and say "Aloha" to spring.

Friday, March 23, the Foggy Goggle is the scene of an all out Beach Party including a Hula Hoop Contest, festive island drinks and the chilled out beach vibes of The Trop Band, covering Bob Marley to the Beach Boys and anything in between.
Saturday, March 24, it's time for the 10th Annual Pond Skim and Meltdown Party. Sure, everyone has seen a pond skim before, but what about a double pond skim? Seven Springs kicks things up a notch by having festively-clad skiers and riders try to skim not one, but two ponds. Celebrity judges and emcee's score the best skim, best costume and best splash, handing out awards including a 2012-13 season pass and 2012-13 mid-week season pass. The event is also filmed, so you can check out the ultra slow-mo replays online.
Cost to enter is just $25. (fee includes a t-shirt and one judged run -- additional unscored runs can be taken after all competitors have skimmed)
Register online in advance or the day of the event between 9 and 10:30 a.m. Skimming starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp. The weekend will finish of with more live music, a limbo contest and of course, plenty of drinks with the little umbrella.
