Spring snowstorms have brought plenty of powder to British Columbia this March. Ski resorts across the province have been celebrating above average snowfalls and reaching milestones in the annual tally of snow accumulation for the 2011-12 season.
If you haven’t gotten enough skiing in this year, you might want to try one of these resorts. A longer ski season in Western Canada offers plenty of time for trips.
With a full two months left in its season, Whistler Blackcomb surpassed its annual average snowfall. Storm cycles dumped March powder on the resort even down to Whistler Village. As of this week, Whistler Blackcomb has topped 36 feet in snowfall for the season. This is the third year in a row that the resort has blown past its annual average snowfall in March.
Both mountains at Whistler are open for skiing through April 22. After that, Blackcomb Mountain continues to run lifts through May 21. Ski and stay specials, including last minute hotel deals, are available throughout spring by calling 888-403-4727.

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort on Vancouver Island topped 1,100 centimeters of snowfall as of mid-March. The snowpack is running about 17 feet deep, boding a solid spring season. The resort plans to operate its lifts daily until April 22.
Several lodging and lift ticket packages are available for Mt. Washington. Reservations can be made by 888-231-1499 or booking online.
