Crystal Mountain is planning a “sweet” finish to the season. Saturday, March 31, the resort will be hosting its fourth annual Maple Syrup Festival, and this Saturday, March 24, is their 14th annual Spring Fling.

The Spring Fling Luau is all about having fun as the season winds down. Popular spectator events include the Cardboard Classic, a head-to-head downhill Kayak Race, Slush Cup, and a beach party complete with a barbeque and tropical drinks. An adult costume party takes place in the Vista Lounge.

Activities for the Maple Syrup Festival include tree tapping presentations, arts and crafts demonstrations for the kids, a cooking class for the adults featuring maple syrup, and wood carving demonstrations. Local vendors will also have maple syrup products on sale throughout the day. An all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast takes place Sunday morning in the Wild Tomato Restaurant featuring, of course, maple syrup.

A Pure Michigan Spring Break Package, from $199 per couple, per night, includes lodging, lift tickets, a two-hour bike rental and daily activities scheduled from March 24-April 8 throughout Spring Break. Kids, ages 9-17, can be added to the package for only $5 each. Children eight and under sleep, ski and eat breakfast free with parents.

Golf may even be a possibility on the resort’s Betsie Valley Course. Crystal has been recognized by numerous publications as being one of the top family resorts in the Heartland. Parent’s magazine calls it “one of the top 10 in the nation.”
