Leprechauns love a party and they’ll find it at Snowmass Village Mall this Saturday. St. Patrick’s Day is a party at Snowmass, with one of Colorado’s biggest mountain celebrations. Best of all, it’s free.

Traditional Irish music will be playing. The El Jebel Shrine Pipe Band will parade and bagpipe through the mall. The Colorado West Celtic dancers will jig and reel. And partiers will drink green beer and enjoy Irish food throughout the Snowmass Village Mall.

Skiers and riders can spend the day on the slopes looking for giant green shamrocks in the Lucky Leprechaun Adult Scavenger Hunt. It starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. that afternoon. Clues are on the chairlift boards throughout the mountain.

“Believe it or not the Lucky Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt is serious business to a lot of our visitors who make it their mission to find as many giant green shamrocks as they can hidden along the ski runs,” said Patsy Popejoy with Snowmass Tourism.  “We get families who come every year specifically for the scavenger hunt who win prizes from $30 restaurant and retail gift certificates, to ski apparel and equipment rentals.”

Kids get to search for treasure boxes hidden along the ski trails. The mall will also have plenty to do for the kids with crafts, clowns and face painting.

A free concert that afternoon features the traditional Celtic band Castle Rock Celts.
