Lutsen Mountains, the Heartland’s largest ski resort, has had a good winter in contrast to much of the Midwest.  They received nearly two feet of snow in early March and plan on staying open until mid-April, which they’ve done for the last 21 years.

Lutsen, celebrating spring conditions that are normally some of the best around the Great Lakes, is offering Family Spring Break Packages from $132 per person in a motel room and from $175 per person in a condo, based on quad occupancy.  The offer, good from March 18 through April 6, includes three nights' lodging, three days of lift tickets and free ski rentals and lessons.

Lutsen is also offering half-price weekdays - stay three or more nights during midweek and get lift and lodging for half-price.  Stay three or more nights over a weekend and get an extra night's lodging and a day of skiing free.  Both offers are good through the first weekend of April, and the resort guarantees at least 40 runs open through April 8.

The resort hosts its Spring Carnival on Saturday, March 31.  There will be costume contests, family fun races with great prizes, fireworks and lots of live entertainment.  The weekend theme is a giant deck party.  Grab your beach gear, crazy costumes, ski and riding gear and head north to Lutsen.  All events are free and open to the public.  It’s the heartiest beach party north of South Beach.

Lutsen arguably offers some of the best skiing and riding found around the Great Lakes Region.  Overlooking Lake Superior's north shore, the scenery is spectacular.
