From now until the end of March, Durango Mountain Resort wants to soften the blow to guests’ wallets if they come to stay at or near the southwestern Colorado mountain.
An across-the-board 30-percent discount is in force until April 1 for anyone who books a room at a resort-operated accommodation. Three lodging options at Durango Mountain Resort await visitors in the penultimate month of operations in the 2011-2012 season: hotels, condos, private homes and townhomes.
At slopeside, skiers and snowboarders can strap on the gear and head right to the lift from the Purgatory Village Hotel, and either Elk Point Townhomes or East Rim Condominiums. A short walk from the base area sits the Balcony House, a 2,600-square-foot residence for families and friends.
A short drive or shuttle ride gets guests back and forth from BlackBear Townhomes, directly across from the resort entrance; Cascade Village, a mountain lodge just up the road toward Coalbank Pass; or, the single-family Twilight Cabin in the woods.
About eight miles down the road from the mountain is The Lodge at Tamarron, a luxury accommodation with all levels of lodging from studio and lofts to executive suites.
